AC Dogtraining

The best training and nurturing you can get for your dog!

AC Dogtraining was founded to prevent:

  • Bad puppy purchases
  • Dogs from ending up in shelters
  • Unsuccesful replacements of dogs
  • Unwanted behavior in dogs, including bite incidents
  • People don't take their responsabilities as a dog owner seriously
  • Dog abuse and/or dog neglect

AC Dog Training does this by providing a special training method for dogs and their owners.

If you are able to keep your eyes dry with the following YT movie of Sherman a shelterdog, a severe case of dog abuse and neglect,  you don't have to read on at this website, cause you are apperently no dog lover.

Now, dry your tears and read on....

The training method of AC Dogtraining is...

  • A logical and easy to understand training and education method for your dog.
  • Aimed at developing a life time healthy relationship between you and your dog.
  • Based on playing with your dog and rewarding your dog's desired behavior.
  • Based on the most modern, up-to-date insights within the international balanced training world for working and sporting dogs.

AC Dogtraining provides high quality training for all kinds of dogs. Even for dogs that are not really suitable as companion dogs. Malinois, for example, are usually bred for certain professional tasks within the police force or army. With Malinoin the problem is that they are very easy trainable, but also it is so easy to make mistakes with those dogs in incompetent hands.

Only with the highest quality training these dogs can be made suitable as pet or sporting dogs. So, the malinois is a special dog. Here something about the Malinois...

Is the Belgian Malinois really a pet dog...?

AC Dogtraining Courses:

Pre Puppy Consultations

If you're considering getting a puppy, it's important that you choose a puppy that's right for you. AC Dog Training does so-called "pre-puppy consultations" where you are optimally guided when choosing a puppy.

Below an amiable German Shepherd puppy that is trained according to the "All Positive K9 system" and takes the training very seriously. The AC Dog Training system has many similarities with the K9 training system.

Basic course I + II + III

  • Basic course I is a course for dog owners with a puppy. The ideal is if this course follows a Pre Puppy Consultation in which you have selected a beautiful puppy guided bij AC Dog Training. However, you can also follow these courses if you have already chosen a puppy yourself.
  • The Abridged Basic Course I is a special course for pups who have attended puppycourses elsewhere and in which that other puppycourse differs to much from Basic Course I. As things have to be unlearned usualy the Abridged Basic Course I takes more time to complete than the ordinary Basic Course I.
  • Basic course II focuses on reward through food.
  • Basic course III focuses on reward through play
  • If you have followed the Basic courses I, II and III you will have a well balanced dog who behaves very well and likes to play with you and do all kinds of exciting things with you. A solid foundation for a healthy and enjoyable life together with your dog. For most pet dogs, attending these three AC Dog Training courses is more than enough.
  • These courses are ideal for working and sporting dogs as a solid preparation for further courses in a specific sport discipline or in professional work.

Course: Refreshing Basics

After completing the basic courses I, II and III, it is important to keep repeating what has been learned, otherwise the knowledge and skills will drop. With the refresher lessons, knowledge and skills can be brought back up to standard.

The refresher lessons are always purchased in sets of 5.

Obedience training is always done in groups of 4-6.

Tug game lessons are always taken as private lessons.

Course: Playing with you dog

Play is very important for your dog. Not only play with other animals or toys, but also play with you as a dog owner. Playing with your dog is the way to keep a healthy and good relationship with your dog. In this course you will learn to play all kinds of meaningful games with your dog.

Course: The Recall

That the dog comes to you when called is one of the most important commands for your dog. Nothing is more annoying or disappointing if your dog does not come every time it is called.

During the recall course of AC Dogtrainng, a great number of exercises are done to really master this important command. Siberians Huskies are dogs who have a reputations not to come when called. But: who is to blame for this, the dog or the owner?

Course: Leash Reactivity

Does your dog bark at other dogs? Or does your dog keep attacking people or, for example, cyclists? Then it is wise to follow the leash reactivity course of AC Dog Training.

Course: Loose Leash Walking

Is your dog constantly pulling on the leash? Is it more like the dog is walking you instead of you walking the dog? This course is for any dog that is not able to walk well on a leash.

Unfortunately, that's quite a lot of dogs...

Robert is an old internet acquaintance of mine. He is a very passioned dog trainer in the States. Here he is giving some good pointers about leash walking.

Course: Dealing with Fear of Dogs

Unfortunately, there are many people who are afraid of dogs. Often this fear is caused by things that happened in the past. Not infrequently we see children who have inherited the fear of dogs from their parents.

During the Course: Dealing with fear of dogs you will learn to deal with all dogs in a good way; at the end you may even like them. This course is ideally suited for classroom teaching to primary school children.

This course is always given in person by the owner of AC Dogtraining, AA Calbo, who happens to be apart from being a passioned dogtrainer also a medical doctor (MD).

Course: Dog Training Education: The ACD Certificate

The "Dog Training Education" course is a special course for dog trainers who want to obtain the ACD Certificate. Besides extensively teaching the training method of AC Dog Training as such during this course, the backgrounds of the training method of AC Dog Training are discussed in depth. There is also an internship period during this course.
